Best-Selling
Jewish Porn Films: New Poems (2006) is Wayne Koestenbaum's
fifth book of poetry. Moira Orfei in Aigues-Mortes (2005)--the
book Nabokov wished he could have written, if only he'd been a little
bit gayer--was Wayne's first novel. Andy Warhol (2001) was
his first biography, and Cleavage:
Essays on Sex, Stars, and Aesthetics (2000) was his fourth book
of cultural and literary criticism. Jackie
O (1997) was his
first opera libretto.
Wayne, three of whose classes,
including "Opera and Gender," I took at Yale, is a professor
of English at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York. I interviewed him
at his Chelsea apartment in 2004. |
