Daniel
Handler is
better known as Lemony Snicket, whose Series of Unfortunate Events children's
books have sold more copies worldwide than there are tearstains on the
pillows of all the orphans who have ever been abandoned on doorsteps.
Daniel is the author of three adult novels: Adverbs (2006), Watch
Your Mouth (2002) and The
Basic Eight (2000). He wrote screenplays for the movies
Kill the Poor (2006) and Rick (2003), and with San
Francisco composer Nathaniel Stookey created the children's
guide to the orchestra called The Composer Is Dead (2006).
Daniel and I met in middle school and went to Lowell
High School together with Nat. We grew up five blocks apart and now
live around the corner from one another. I interviewed him at my apartment
in 2005. |
