Michael
Warner, professor of English at Yale University whose books include
Publics and Counterpublics (2002) and The
Trouble With Normal: Sex, Politics, and the Ethics of Queer Life (1999).
He is the editor of American Sermons: The Pilgrims
to Martin Luther King Jr. (1999), Fear of
a Queer Planet: Queer Politics and Social Theory (1993), and The
Portable Walt Whitman (2003).
Michael and I met at a spring gathering of the Radical
Faeries. I subsequently screened a preliminary version of the movie at
his Chelsea loft, before which I interviewed Elizabeth
Povinelli and
Texxxas Sage.
