John Cameron Mitchell is the writer and director of Shortbus (2006), a sexually explicit comedy about sex, and the creator with composer Stephen Trask of the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch (1997) and the movie based on it (2001).

I got to know John while auditioning for Shortbus, and interviewed him at the Bar Nothing later that year.
